Ricoh FI-8040 A4 Document Scanner

DirectScan technology provides PC-less scanning directly into workflows, sending images straight to destinations such as network folders, FTP locations or multiple pre-programmed email addresses. In addition, Scanner Central Admin provides remote management, saving you time and money when it comes to deploying and maintaining your scanner.

Direct Scan offers three configuration methods: via PC web browser, via Scanner Central Admin or via the RICOH fi-8040’s own 10.9cm touch-screen with large, easy-to-use, clearly-labelled job buttons that makes for a simple user experience and for scanning directly to multiple email addresses when dissemination of digitised documents is required.

DirectScan technology is included as standard with the RICOH fi-8040 scanner, incorporates a built-in LCD colour touchscreen providing every user with a highly intuitive experience. DirectScan technology enables operators to instantly scan directly into business workflows from the scanning device, saving both time and money. DirectScan also provides core image processing functions such as auto-rotation, that help produce ready-to-use output files.

Enhanced Multi-Feed Detection

Unnecessary stoppages in the scanning process are eliminated by automatically recognising and ignoring cards, stickers, and small defined attachments. This patented technology is an evolution beyond standard multi-feed detection which stops when anything beyond a single sheet is identified during feed through.

PaperStream IP

The fi-8040 comes bundled with PaperStream IP, an integrated scanner driver and image enhancement module that is built on TWAIN/ISIS standards offering user friendly operability, intuitive high quality image creation and real time processing that will benefit post scan routines like OCR.

PaperStream Capture

Also bundled is PaperStream Capture which is an easy to use capture tool which allows users to easily create batch scanning profiles which encapsulate all of the settings and configuration required to control the scanning process from scan, to the release of the image to the users normal work flow. Once created, batch profiles can be run by a single click or can be linked to scanner front panel buttons to streamline the whole capture process.
