To help protect the original document, a paper protection function monitors document movement and automatically stops feeding when any irregularities are detected.

The Intelligent Multi-feed Function allows document scan parameters to be applied which enable the sensors to be set up to help identify and subsequently ignore purposely placed attachments such as sticky notes or items with a photo attached that would otherwise cause disruptions to the scanning process.

The fi-7140 is easy to set up, use and maintain and comes bundled with a user friendly and intuitive scanner driver PaperStream IP for high quality image processing along with batch scanning automation and enhancement software PaperStream Capture. A4 portrait scanning speeds in both colour or black and white at up to 300 dpi is 40 pages per minute or 80 images per minute through the 80 page capacity ADF.

Intuitive feeding functions

The fi-7140 additionally makes use of an ultrasonic sensor that accurately detects multi-feed errors where two or more sheets are fed through the scanner at once plus intelligent multi-feed function that is designed for documents that intentionally feature paper attachments of defined sizes or locations such as sticky notes or photos. The fi-7140 comes bundled with PaperStream IP, an integrated scanner driver and image enhancement module that is built on TWAIN/ISIS standards offering user friendly operability, intuitive high quality image creation and real time processing that will benefit post scan routines like OCR.

PaperStream Capture

Also bundled is PaperStream Capture which is an easy to use capture tool which allows users to easily create batch scanning profiles which encapsulate all of the settings and configuration required to control the scanning process from scan, to the release of the image to the users normal work flow. Once created, batch profiles can be run by a single click or can be linked to scanner front panel buttons to streamline the whole capture process.
