And, as a more efficient optical technology, power consumption for every scan is reduced. Automatic Separation Control

Ricoh patented Automatic Separation Control delivers the perfect feed so organisations can scan larger volumes and mixed batches of documents with confidence. By sensing their weight and adapting and adjusting torque automatically, mis-feed and mid-scan interruptions are eliminated. This guarantees feed stability for different document formats and saves users from wasting time sorting different document types into individual batches. It also enables the 100 sheet ADF capacity and higher speeds for more efficient, high-throughput workgroup scanning. A scanner driver that cleans and optimises image files for faster, lower-cost access and storage.

The Ricoh fi-8250 scanner protects documents from damage using innovative new technology. Patentedǂ Image Monitoring identifies overly skewed documents in real time and halts the scanning process before they can be damaged. ISoP will do the same if it detects any abnormal feed sounds. While Lag Detection ensures documents are feeding through at the expected speed.

The fi-8250 comes bundled with PaperStream IP, an integrated scanner driver and image enhancement module that is built on TWAIN/ISIS standards offering user friendly operability, intuitive high quality image creation and real time processing that will benefit post scan routines like OCR.

PaperStream Capture

Also bundled is PaperStream Capture which is an easy to use capture tool which allows users to easily create batch scanning profiles which encapsulate all of the settings and configuration required to control the scanning process from scan, to the release of the image to the users normal work flow. Once created, batch profiles can be run by a single click or can be linked to scanner front panel buttons to streamline the whole capture process.

PaperStream Capture Pro

Work better, faster and smarter with the optional PaperStream Capture Pro a user friendly, end-to-end capture solution and optimise your information capture, data consolidation and routing of paper-based information into digitally-accelerated processes.   1. Available OCR languages when using third party scanners. English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Japanese.
  2. OCR for handwritten non-cursive text is not supported under Windows 32bit OS.
  3. Not available when using third party scanner.
  4. Available when specified connectors are installed. 
  5. Available when PaperStream Connector Option is installed.

  7. It is necessary to install at least one Scan Station or QC/Index Station in addition to the PaperStream Capture Pro Scan Station, since 2 or more stations are required in total to configure the "Multi-Station function".

  9. The scanner may not operate if the recommended CPU and memory capacity requirements are not met. 
  10. Enough disk capacity is necessary for the saved file when scanning.
